The shingles vaccination programme was introduced by the Department of Health in 2013 to help protect those most at risk from shingles and its complications. Patients who are between 70 and 79 are eligible for this vaccination. Any patients who reach their 80th birthday is no longer eligible for the vaccination due to the reducing efficacy of the vaccine as age increases.

The vaccine will be available from 1.9.2016 so if you are eligible then please contact the surgery to book an appointment with the practice nurse in the clinic.
